I was born in Mount Kisco, NY. My dad was a lawyer and my mother a law librarian. I have one older sister who now lives abroad. I graduated from JFK Catholic H.S. in 2000. I graduated in 2005 from Wilkes University with a bachelor's in Criminology. I moved to Vermont after graduation. I married my husband, Adam, in 2013 and had my daughter, Alice in 2018. A month after she was born I graduated with a master's in accounting. Six years later I decided to go back to my first love of writing and started writing my first novel, Fiona.
I first started writing in high school in my freshman year. It was love at first stationary item. I started writing with a basic legal pad and a pen and I still write that way to this day. At first it was short stories and then I moved on to poetry. It was a great way to express myself without needing to say a word. After high school I didn't write as often since I was studying criminology. Somewhere along the way I stopped writing down on paper. Although I still thought up stories in my head. When my daughter was born, I would make up stories to read to her. Then when she got older and got scared of things like dragons and monsters, I told her stories to help chase away the nightmares. Although I will always tell her new stories, I've decided to also write my own stories to share with the world.
For some reason stories just come to me. When I first started to write my first book, I didn't need to write an outline or figure out the plot ahead of time. My style of writing is by letting the characters tell me the story. Nothing is really thought about ahead of me writing down my first draft. I just write and the words flow. Then the "work" begins and I fill in my story with descriptions of people and places. I had information about where the story takes place and about the lore of leprechauns. I study the time period and put what I can in my story.
Where all your dreams are reality made real by your imagination and mine.
